Wulfstan, ealdorman of Wiltshire

For other uses, see Wulfstan (disambiguation).

Wulfstan (or Weohstan; died 802) was a leader of Wessex who ruled Wiltshire as ealdorman under kings Cynewulf and Beorhtric. He was married to Alburga, daughter of Ealhmund, sub-king of Kent.[1]

Wulfstan founded a college of secular clergy at Wilton in about 773, but after his death it was transformed by his wife Alburga into the Benedictine convent of Wilton Abbey.
