Wytheville Cubs
The Wytheville Cubs, located in Wytheville, Virginia, were a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Chicago Cubs that played from 1985 to 1989. They played in the Appalachian League and had four different managers in their five years of existence. They finished with their best record in their first year, when they went 39-31, finishing third in the league.
Alumni include Jerome Walton, Les Lancaster, Derrick May, Shawn Boskie, Matt Walbeck, Matt Franco, Alex Arias, Frank Castillo and Kevin Roberson.
After the 1989 season, the Wytheville Cubs moved to Huntington, West Virginia to become the Huntington Cubs.
