XTB (X-Trade Brokers) is a European brokerage house offering trading in financial derivatives. Founded in 2002, the company is now established in more than 15 countries in Europe, South America and Asia. It provides environment for trading and investing in over-the-counter derivatives on Forex, commodities, indices, equity CFDs, and options. XTB is operated by X-Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski S.A. based in Warsaw, Poland;[1] its representative company, XTB Limited, is based in London, United Kingdom, and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.[2]

History

In 2002, X-Trade was incorporated as the first leveraged foreign exchange (Forex) brokerage house on the Polish market.

In 2004, X-Trade Brokers was set up in order to comply with the new financial market law which came into force in Poland to better regulate the brokerage activity. In the same year, X-Trade merged into XTB.

In November 2005, XTB was authorized by KNF (Polish Financial Supervision Authority) to offer brokerage services on all financial products.[5]

In June 2007, XTB became a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.[6] The same year, XTB opened its first foreign branch in Czech Republic. In total, XTB provides its services in 15 EU countries (Poland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Belgium, Greece, Bulgaria).

In 2009, XTB received the 2nd award as the Best Equity Broker in Poland by Forbes magazine.

In October 2014, ceased operating in the Warsaw Stock Exchange.[7]

Sponsorship

In March 2010, XTB officially announced its partnership with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One team. Its logo appeared on the overalls of 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton and 2009 World Champion Jenson Button.[8][9]
