"X Gon' Give It to Ya" is a song by American hip hop recording artist DMX, released as the lead single from the soundtrack, Cradle 2 the Grave. The song also appeared as a hidden track on DMX's greatest hits album, The Definition of X: The Pick of the Litter.
Commercial performance
The song found success on the charts, peaking at 60 on the Billboard Hot 100, 23 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and 13 on the Hot Rap Songs. As of March 2016, the single sold over 431,000 copies in the US.[1]
Production
The song was produced by co-soundtrack organizer Shatek, and it was written by DMX. The song can be found on over 20 compilation albums. There also exists a radio edit in which the profanity is censored.
In popular culture
- The song was featured in the 2003 video game Def Jam Vendetta, in which DMX also appeared.
- It is also known as the walk-up song of Padres outfielder Xavier Nady and Red Sox infielder Xander Bogaerts.
