The Xavier Newswire (established 1915) is an independent newspaper published weekly during the academic year by the students of Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is an 8-16 page newspaper, featuring six sections: News, Campus News, Opinions and Editorials, Sports, Arts & Entertainment and Features. While many of these sections and articles are very well written, topical, and controversial, many Xavier students who read the Newswire do so only to see the "Police Notes" section of Campus News to read funny exploits from the previous weekend's parties and/or the "Mall Talk" section to check for one of their friends.

The Newswire was originally called "The Xavierian News" and was founded by Xavier's law school in 1915.

The staff meets to put together the paper on Tuesday nights. The legendary Publications House was demolished on March 10, 2010 and the staff now meets in the Gallagher Student Center on campus. The Newswire made its color debut on January 23, 2008.

Recurring articles include professor profiles, "Ask the Experts," "Life at the Newswire," and "The Spectator."
