Yang County or Yangxian(simplified Chinese: 洋县; traditional Chinese: 洋縣; pinyin: Yángxiàn) is a county of Hanzhong, Shaanxi, China.It is encompasses the easternmost portion of thethe Han River (Hanshui).Gorges, including the Hanzhong Basin (汉中盆地).

Geography

Yang County is located in southwestern Shaanxi, near the border with Chenggu County and Xixiang County Counties, and is a part of the Shannan region. It sits in the east of the Hanzhong Basin (汉中盆地), on the Han River (Hanshui). The Daba Mountains are perched to the south of the County; to the north lie the Qin Mountains. The city's administrative area (prefecture) ranges in latitude from 33°02′to 33°43′N and in longitude from 107°11′ to 108°33′E, and is 3,206 square kilometres (1,238 sq mi).[2] The northern part of the prefecture is high while the southern part is generally low. Elevations range from around 389 metres (1,276 ft) in the urban area to 3,071 metres (10,075 ft) in the Qin Mountains.

Transport

Yang County is served by the Hanzhong Airport and Yangpingguan–Ankang Railway. Yang County also enjoys the convenience of The National Expressway System by G5(Beijing-Kunming).Also, National highway China 108,and provincial road 230 constitute the developed traffic network of Yang Countyg.

The Xi'an–Chengdu High-Speed Railway under construction will operate in December 2017.[3][4]
