Yelena Nicolaevna Trofimenko (born March 20, 1964) is a Belarusian film director, producer, screenwriter, author, actress, poet.
Biography
Yelena was born on March, 20, in Minsk, Belarus. Father- Nicolay Antonovich Trofimenko (Mar 9, 1936- Dec 12, 2000) – welder, mother – Vera Lukinichna Trofimenko (Sep 5, 1937 – present). Graduated from Minsk high school № 74 with French language. During the period from 1982 to 1989 Yelena worked at Belarusian Television. She directed and produced several films during this time. In 1989 she was admitted to (Belarusian State Academy of Arts), to the first historical school for directors of story films in Belarus, which was established by Victor Turov. Yelena graduated with summa cum laude in 1994. In 1994 Yelena won in competition and earned training in French school - Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques- FEMIS, Paris (École Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l'Image et du Son). Yelena received a grant from French Government and directed a documentary, and earned diploma-certificate.
In 1996 Elena has become a director at film studio «Belarusfilm» . In 1998 came out her first full-length film «Falling upward». Yelena was directing action films and documentary at creative association “BelVideoCenter”.
In 1996 Yelena Trofimenko has become a member of Belarusian Union of cinematographers. In 1998 – the member of Board of Directors. Yelena is a founder, originator, and artistic director of creative studio “Youth Studio XXI ” («Belarusfilm», 2002).[1] “Festival of one film” was created at this Studio.

Yelena is married to Leonid Tereshko (Mar, 5 1961) – cameraman at First National Channel (Belarus). Son was born in 1987, Yaroslav.
In 2012, Yelena created a collection of poems and reproductions - "The Book" by Yelena Trofimenko.[2]
