Yenisu is a small village in Silifke district of Mersin Province, Turkey. The village at 36°32′N 33°41′E / 36.533°N 33.683°E is situated in the Taurus Mountains. The distance to Silifke is 50 kilometres (31 mi) . The population of Yenisu is 91 [1] as of 2011 . The village was founded by Yörüks (once nomadic Turkmens) probably two centuries ago. Main crops of the village are vegetables and fruits such as apple and almond.
