Yo-leven
Yo-leven commonly referred to as Yo is the outcome of rolling the dice in a game of craps and getting an 11 (5-6, 6-5). The term Yo was coined to prevent confusion with a 7 which has a similar sound.[1][2]
The term has also transitioned to poker referring to a bet of 11.[3]
Probability
Rolling two 6-sided dice 25 times gives a probability of 0.760442 that at least once, Yo will appear. There is a 36:2 or 18:1 chance an 11 will appear. The 0% house edge payout would be 17:1, but the house only pays 15:1, giving an 11.11% house edge.[4]
Betting
When the player throws in money and calls out "yo" or "yo-leven", the dealer will usually 'book' the bet as a bet on the 11, so as to not create confusion.
