Yoko Kato is the first female in Japan to become a professor of neurosurgery.[1] She is the founder of the Women's Neurosurgical Association (WNA) of Japan and of the Asian Women's Neurosurgical Association.[1]

Biography

Yoko Kato is one of the earliest women neurosurgeons in Japan.[2] She was promoted as a full Professor at Fujita Health University to become the first female professor in neurosurgery in Japan.[1] In 1990, she founded the Women's Neurosurgical Association (WNA) of Japan. In 1996, she founded the Asian Women's Neurosurgical Association.[1]
