Yonkers Public Schools is a school district that serves all of Yonkers, New York, USA. It is governed by a mayorally appointed Board of Trustees.
Organization
The school district is organized and governed according to New York State Education Law. The Board of Education is the governing body of the school district. It consists of nine unpaid trustees, appointed by the mayor for five year terms. The trustees submit a budget to the city government, but have no taxing authority of their own. The Superintendent of Schools serves "subject to the pleasure of the Board of Education" for up to five years. As the chief executive of the school district, he supervises and directs all other employees, makes decisions regarding curriculum and examination, and has a non-voting seat on the Board.
The current interim Superintendent is Dr. Edwin M. Quezada, named interim after the sudden resignation of Dr. Michael V. Yazurlo in November 2015.
Current Board Members include Dr. Nader J. Sayegh, President; Rev. Steve Lopez, Vice-President; Jim Cavanaugh; William T. Iannuccilli; John Jacono; Curtis Kendrick; Pasquale Mondesando; Judith Ramos Meier; and Mr. Edgar Santana.[5]

Former schools
- P.S. 2 (built 1886) became Benjamin Franklin Jr. High School on Waverly Street. After being closed for years it was remodeled and became an apartment building.
- Yonkers High School previously known as Benjamin Franklin Jr. High School, on Poplar St. became Enrico Fermi Middle School which became the Enrico Fermi School for the Performing Arts. The first Yonkers High School was originally on S. Broadway and Nepperhan Avenue, across the street from City Hall.
- Walt Whitman Jr. High School on Shore View Drive/105 Avondale Rd is now the Robert C. Dodson School.
- Elizabeth Seton College on 1061 N. Broadway (Campus is now used by the William Boyce Thompson School (formerly known as Foxfire School until 2015))
- Saunders Trades School on South Broadway (School relocated to Palmer Road and old building is now Yonkers Police Headquarters on S. Broadway)
- School 4 on Trenchard Street (Now affordable housing)
- School 3 on 15 Hamilton Avenue (Now apartment building)

- Early Childhood Center- School 10 on 75 Riverdale Avenue became Hudson River Academy. (Now Campus is now used by the VIVE School and Yonkers Pathway to Success)
- School 7 on 380 Walnut Street (Campus is now used by the Andulusia School, a private Muslim school))
- School 8 on 373 Bronxville Road (Campus is now used by the Patricia A. DiChiaro School)
- Yonkers High School on 150 Rockland Avenue became John Burroughs Middle School (Campus is now used by Yonkers Middle High School)
- John Burroughs Junior High School School on Palmer Road (Campus is now used by Saunders Trades and Technical High School)
- Museum Jr. High School on 565 Warburton Ave became Museum Middle School which became (Campus is now used by Riverside High School)
- Longfellow Jr. High School which became the Yonkers High School of Commerce in 1938 on 190 N Broadway/201 Palisade Ave which became Commerce Middle School in 2000 (Campus is now used by Palisade Preparatory School as of 2008)
- Mark Twain Middle School and Montessori School 11 and 99 Wakefield Ave/160 Woodlawn Ave (Campuses are now used by Yonkers Montessori Academy)
- School 6 on 33 Ashburton Avenue (Due to be part of municipal housing complex next to it, Cottage Gardens)
- Longfellow Jr. High School (previously known as P.S. 20 until 1938, when it moved from its previous location on 190 N Broadway) on 23 Mulberry Street (will become a 40-unit apartment building)
