Zain Ansari
Zain Ansari (born July 17, 1950 in Pir-jo Goth, Sindh, Pakistan) is a Pakistani political figure.[1]
Early life
Ansari attained basic education in his native village of Pir jo goth and later studied in Mansoora, an Islamic School (Madrasa) near Hyderabad Sindh. After earning a degree of Molvi Aalim Fazil in Arabic, he joined Sindh University and completed his bachelor's degree.
Political career
Soon after graduating, Ansari became a government official in local bodies and served the poor people of Pakistan until 1990. In January 1990, he became a second Hyder Bux Jatoi of Sindh and resigned from his Government job. He started a political party called the Sindh Quami Movement (SQM). From 1990 to 1995 he was a Chairman of SQM and Goth Bachao Tehreek. In 1995, he merged his Party SQM into PMLN and now he is the part of Pakistan Muslim League (N).
During the period of General Muharaf’s dictatorship, he went to jail several times. For five years, he was president of Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD), Sindh Chapter. Currently, he a member of the Central Organizing Committee of PMLN.
