Zain Asher
Zain Ejiofor Asher (born 27 August 1983) is a British news anchor at CNN International based in Atlanta. She currently anchors CNN Newsroom weekdays at 2:30pm ET on CNN International. Previously, Asher co-anchored CNN Newsroom at 1am ET on CNN America. In 2013, Asher joined CNN as a business correspondent based in New York City.[1] In addition to financial reporting for CNN, she also had a monthly column in Money Magazine.[2] She is the younger sister of actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.[3][4][5][6] She is of Igbo ancestry.
Education and early career
Asher graduated from Keble College, Oxford University in 2005 with a degree in French and Spanish.[7] She also graduated from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in 2006.[8] Prior to joining CNN in February 2013, Asher was a full-time reporter for Money, where she wrote personal finance articles.[9][10] Asher also was a TV reporter at News 12 Brooklyn, reporting from Brooklyn, the Bronx and Connecticut.[11]
