Zara Investment Holding is a public shareholding company, Zara was established on May 10, 1994 by Sabih al-Masri, the current chairman, and late Khalil Talhoni, in addition to a group of independent investors , banks and investment companies. As of April 2015 the paid up capital of Zara is JD 150 million.[1]

The hotel portfolio of Zara consists of seven 5-star hotels spread all over Jordan. including: Grand Hyatt Amman, InterContinental Jordan Movenpick Dead Sea Spa and Resort Dead Sea, Petra Other non-core activities of the Company include owning and managing companies serving the hospitality industry Zara invests primarily in tourism; particularly, in the hotels sector. Zara is one of the largest investment groups in Jordan.

Today Zara is the largest hospitality company in Jordan. It controls approximately 26% of Jordan's total room inventory of 5-star hotels. Zara is the largest employer in the 5-star hotel industry in Jordan. It employs approximately 26% of the total employees in the 5-star hotel category in Jordan.

Zara owns the most 5-star hotels in Jordan, with seven, including: InterContinental Jordan , Mövenpick Resort Petra, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea , Grand Hyatt Amman, Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba, The Mövenpick Nabatean Castle, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba, Himmeh Thermal Springs and Eco-Lodge. (Initiated all necessary preparations for developing a 3-star eco-resort currently pending government clearance and permits).

On May 21, 2013 HRH Crown Prince Hussein inaugurated the official opening of Saltus Hotel ushering in an exciting landmark in the history of As-Salt A change sparked by a strong faith in Jordan's young talents combined with an unrivaled passion for the trove of historical and cultural treasures tucked away in the numerous quaint towns spread all over Jordan. Saltus Hotel proved to be an ideal opportunity for Zara to be directly involved in the training process of hospitality students through its non-profit partnership with the Vocational Training Corporation. In addition it proved to be ideal in adding a much needed lodging facility to one of Jordan's most charming towns namely As-Salt. Not only is Saltus hotel the first training hotel within a vocational training center in Jordan, it is also the first classified hotel in As-Salt.

The hotels owned by Zara Investment are among the first establishments in Jordan to house and support works of local and international artists. With the growth in popularity and the maturity of the art scene in Jordan, this initiative at institutional art has resulted in Zara owning a large collection of substantial artworks. Many of the artists that were identified by Zara early on, are now well established and featured in major events such as Christies art auctions in Dubai. 1- During 2015 Zara was the first Jordanian hospitality company in Jordan to pledge its commitment to adhere to the principles of the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, and officially requested to sign with the UNWTO the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.

2- Through Zara partnership with The Vocational Training Corporation in the city of As-Salt through developing Saltus Hotel Zara has contributed to the training of almost 400 trainees of which 19% are females. Moreover, Zara hotels provided on the job internships/training for 82 trainees, out of which 24 were hired full-time.
