Zaryn Dentzel (born June 8, 1983) is the founder and chairman of Tuenti, a Spanish tech company focused on innovation in the field of social and mobile communications.[1]

Dentzel originates from Santa Barbara in USA and had his first go at social networking aged 21 when he co-created the political social network Essembly in the USA. He first came to Spain at age 15 as an exchange student. Later, in the USA, he studied Diplomacy and World Affairs and Spanish Literature at Occidental College in Los Angeles, before moving to Spain and create Tuenti Tuenti in 2006 with three other friends.[2]

Ever since, he has become one of Spain's wealthiest and most famous young entrepreneurs thanks to the success and fast growth of Tuenti.[3] He has been featured extensively in the Spanish media and revealed his ambition 'to radically transform communications' through innovative phone services in the cloud within their own mobile application.[4] Tuenti was acquired by the Spanish telecommunications giant Telefonica on August 4, 2010 for a total €70 million, though Zaryn still continued to run the company as its CEO[5] until January 2015 when he became Chairman, as also took new responsibilities in the Telefónica group as the Strategic Advisor for Digital Transformation.[6]

He lives in Madrid, where Tuenti has its head office.[7] In 2013, he wrote the book "El futuro lo decides tú" (You Decide the Future) which is the first to tell the story of Tuenti.[8]
