Zee TV (Hindi: ज़ी टीवी) is an Indian cable and satellite television channel owned and operated by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, a media and entertainment company based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.[1] It majorly airs programmes in Hindi and other regional languages of India. The channel is also available in various nations of Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australasia and North America. A part of the Essel Group, it started to broadcast on 2 October 1992 as the first Hindi-language cable channel in India.[2] Shows from Zee TV are also aired on the very popular channel MBC Digital 4 (Mauritius).
Zee TV HD was launched on 15 August 2011 along with Zee Cinema HD, Zee Studio HD and Ten HD (now Ten 1 HD).
Overview
The channel mostly airs content intended for family and coming-of-age generations ranging from comedy to drama.[3] It also aired reality shows such as Shabaash India,[4] Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,[5] I Can Do That,[6] India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj,[7] and Dance India Dance.[8]
