Zhàng

The zhang (Chinese: 市丈; pinyin: Shì zhàng; Wade–Giles: chang) is a customary Chinese unit of length equal to 10 chǐ. One zhang is approximately 3.58 meters, or 3.645 yards. China standardized the length of the zhang in the 19th century for purposes of trade with nations of Western Europe.
