Zhu De's Former Residence

Zhu De's Former Residence (Chinese: 朱德故居; pinyin: Zhū Dé Gùjū) built in the late Qing Dynasty, is located in Linlang Village, Ma'an Town, Yilong County, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, People's Republic of China (仪陇县马鞍镇琳琅村). It has a building area of about 2560 square meters, embodies buildings such as the old houses (故居老屋), the Zhu De Memorial Hall (朱德纪念馆), the statue of Zhu De (朱德汉白玉雕像), the Cultural relics Exhibition Hall (文物展览馆), and Lancao Garden (兰草园).[1][2]

History

On 11 December 1886, Zhu De was born in here, he lived in here about 13 years.

In July 1980, it was listed as a provincial culture and relics site (省级文物保护单位).

In 1988, it was listed as a China's most important culture and relics site (全国重点文物保护单位) by the State Council of China.

On 1 August 1982, Deng Xiaoping (邓小平) wrote "Zhu De's Former Residence" on the horizontal tablet.

On 11 December 1996, the statue of Zhu De was built. At the same year, it was listed as a National Patriotic Education Base (全国爱国主义教育基地).
