Reception

HorrorTalk.com rated it 1/5 stars and wrote, "Unfortunately, Zombie eXs, the latest attempt at marrying humor and gore, fails miserably to bring the funny or the scares."[2] Xander Kane of KillerReviews.com rated it 3.5/5 stars and wrote, "[A]ll its humor, gore and flat out fun make for a great ride."[3] Dan Caps of HorrorNews.Net called it "a somewhat serviceable low-budget comedy-horror."[4] Mike Watt of Film Threat rated it 3.5/5 stars and wrote that it becomes "a very entertaining movie" after the first ten minutes. Watt describes it as "equal parts Shaun of the Dead, The Hangover and a soupçon of Scott Pilgrim".[5] Gordon Sullivan of DVD Verdict wrote, "Though it doesn't have the chops to rise into the mainstream, it does show a lot of promise for the filmmaking team behind it."[6]
