(+)-Pulegone reductase

(+)-pulegone reductase (EC 1.3.1.81) is an enzyme with systematic name (-)-menthone:NADP⁺ oxidoreductase.^[1] This enzyme catalises the following chemical reaction

(1) (-)-menthone + NADP⁺

\rightleftharpoons

(+)-pulegone + NADPH + H⁺

(2) (+)-isomenthone + NADP⁺

\rightleftharpoons

(+)-pulegone + NADPH + H⁺

NADH cannot replace NADPH as reductant.
