1901 Gallaudet Bison football team
The 1901 Gallaudet Bison football team represented the Gallaudet Bison of Gallaudet University, a college for deaf-mutes. The team had one of the best seasons in the South, highlighted by a defeat of Georgetown.[1][2] The backfield consisted of All-Southern[3] Gilbert O. Erickson and George Andree. The Bison suffered their only losses to the Eastern prep school Carlisle and southern champion Virginia. The scoreless tie with Baltimore Medical College was then deemed the "prettiest game that has been seen in Baltimore."[4]
