The Uruguayan Championship 1918 was the 18th season of Uruguay's top-flight football league.

Overview

The tournament consisted of a two-wheel championship of all against all. It involved ten teams, and the champion was Peñarol. winning the first championship under that name and sixth if considered as a successor of Central Uruguay Railway Cricket Club.^[1]

1. There is a controversy regarding the continuity of CURCC and Peñarol. One position holds that both clubs are the same club, and that in 1913 a group of partners CURCC separated to continue the football activity under the name of CURCC/Penarol, definitely changing to the current name of CA Peñarol in 1914. Another position, promoted mainly by Nacional, says on separation between Peñarol CURCC and founded a new club, different from the previous one, since coexisted for a period of almost two years, until the dissolution of CURCC in 1915, date that CURCC donated all his trophies to British Hospital.
2. Includes five CURCC championships, but there is controversy whether the CURCC and Penarol are the same club.
