The first Dutch Super Cup match was held on 25 June 1949 in the Goffertstadion. The match featured the 194849 winners of the league title SVV, and, the winners of the 194849 KNVB Cup, Quick Nijmegen. Both goals were scored in the second half. The match was held because of the forty years existence of the Nijmegen section of the KNVB.[1] There would not be another Dutch Super Cup until 1991.
