1998 FIFA World Cup broadcasting rights

FIFA, through several companies, sold the rights for the broadcast of the 1998 FIFA World Cup to the following broadcasters.

Television

Broadcasters listed below are confirmed to have screened some or all of the matches, with a total of 64-matches that were played in 10-stadiums located across 10-different host cities. The opening ceremony/opening match was between Brazil and Scotland and the closing ceremony/final tournament was won by France who beat Brazil 3–0 in the final. France won their first title becoming the seventh nation to win a 1998 FIFA World Cup at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.

1. ^ Republic of Indonesia screened delayed telecasts in the 1998 FIFA World Cup simulcast via 6-national free-to-air terrestrial television stations. It was broadcast simulcast by 1-national state-owned government public free-to-air terrestrial television station's TVRI and was also simulcast by the 5-national private commercial free-to-air terrestrial television station's RCTI, SCTV, TPI, ANTeve and Indosiar provided Indonesian sports commentary on all 64-matches.
2. ^ It is a joint venture of France 1, France 2, France 3, France 4, TV5Monde and France Ô a subsidiary of France Télévisions. Its functions are the same as the 1998 FIFA World Cup TV.
