2001–02 FC Barcelona season
Fútbol Club Barcelona's 2001-02 season was to be the last but one under the guidance of Joan Gaspart as President and the single season of management by Carles Rexach at Barcelona. It was also the first season after long-serving captain Josep Guardiola moved on from the club. Veteran players like Sergi Barjuán, Abelardo Fernández and the talismanic Rivaldo would play their final years at the club before a summer of change. The club attained a respectable fourth place in the league, 11 points below eventual winners Valencia, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. Patrick Kluivert was top scorer in all competitions, with 25 goals.
