The 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final was a football match that took place on 26 July 2009 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States, to determine the winner of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Background

This is the eighth final in the history of the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the US Team. They had won the title four times, previously in 2007. Mexico was also in the final and had won the title seven times, previously in 2003 (4 since the tournament is called "Gold Cup" and 3 while it was called "CONCACAF Championship"). This is the third time both teams meet in the final of the competition. It marked the final game the US Men's National Team played at Giants Stadium.
