- January 13 - Egypt's highest court overturns the only remaining conviction against former President Hosni Mubarak (a May 2014 sentencing of three years in prison for embezzlement.[1]
February
- February 9 - In Cairo, Egypt clashes between Egyptian police and fans of Zamalek SC kill 22. The Egyptian authorities have suspended football league matches indefinitely.[2]
- February 13 - An Egyptian court orders the release from prison of Canadian journalist Mohamed Fahmy in Cairo.[3]
- February 18 - Qatar withdraws its ambassador from Egypt following disagreement over Egyptian Air Force strikes against Isil targets in Libya after their killing of 21 Coptic Christian hostages.[4]

- March 8 - A bomb explodes outside a French supermarket in Alexandria, killing one person and wounding six.[5]
- March 10 - A suicide bomber kills one person and injures 24 in an attack on a police station in the Sinai Peninsula.[6]
- March 13–15 - The launch of the Egypt Economic Development Conference at the Red Sea City of Sharm el-Sheikh, with over 2,000 delegates from 112 different countries in Egypt to attend the conference.[7]
