2016 Scottish Women's Premier League
The 2016 Scottish Women's Premier League season is the 15th season of the Scottish Women's Premier League, the highest division of women's football in Scotland since its inception in 2002.
Since this season the Premier League was split into two division of eight teams each. Effectively reducing the top-level teams from 12 to 8. The change was made to increase competitiveness in the league.[1] The divisions are named SWPL 1 and SWPL 2.
