The 2017 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season is the 69th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season.

Team changes
- KTM will join the series with a factory-supported team.[8]
- The grid will expand to twenty-four entries.[9] But later the MotoGP organisers have decided to postpone and extra entry to the grid, meaning there'll be 23 bikes only in 2017.
Rider changes
- After nine seasons with Yamaha, Jorge Lorenzo will join to Ducati at the end of 2016 season.
- Bradley Smith will leave Tech 3 Yamaha to join the new KTM team.
- Sam Lowes will make his MotoGP début with Aprilia Racing Team Gresini.
- Jonas Folger move up to premier class with Monster Yamaha Tech 3.
