Social Distortion concert chronology |
Three months before the tour began, drummer Charlie Quintana left the band after spending ten years with Mike Ness and Social Distortion. The band sought to find a replacement and soon found Atom Willard, formerly of Angels & Airwaves. The tour kicked off at an appearance at the Rock to Recovery - A Benefit for Jay Thomas and His Battle With Spinal cord Injury. It was Atom Willard's first show with the band and everybody responded positively to the fresh new young drummer. On this tour, the band started performing more new songs from the upcoming, then untitled Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes such as "Bakersfield", "Alone and Forsaken", "Can't Take It With You" and "Still Alive". It also marked the band's first appearance in London in four years and first appearances in Spain. After the tour ended, the band played two shows as the opening act for Pearl Jam as one of the last acts to play at the Wachovia Spectrum. It would also be Atom Willard's first and only tour with Social Distortion as he would later leave due to scheduling conflicts with Angels & Airwaves.
