Controversies

The Director of the National Women's Council Susan McKay spoke out against an "uncouth and objectionable" interview Tom McGurk conducted with her on 4fm. The National Women's Council has since refrained from giving interviews to 4fm.[2]

Mayor of Naas Darren Scully of Fine Gael apologised for comments he made on 4fm about the "aggressive attitude" of "black Africans" in November 2011. He later resigned.[3] 4fm presenter Niall Boylan said afterwards that he thought Scully had committed "political suicide" on live radio.[4]
