City After Dark a Lino Brocka film was the winner of the Best Film at 5th Gawad Urian and Lino Brocka himself was nominated as the best director although he previously said that he refused any further awards and nominations coming from the Manunuri's. However, the Manunuris chose the film as best picture because they believed that it deserves the recognition. Kakabakaba Ka Ba? on the other hand, won most of the awards with five (5) but most of them came from the technical category such as Best Music and Best production design amongst others.
