The 66th British Academy Film Awards, more commonly known as the BAFTAs, were announced on 10 February 2013 at the Royal Opera House in London, honouring the best national and foreign films of 2012.[1] The nominees were announced on 9 January 2013.[2][3] Stephen Fry hosted the ceremony, where Argo was named Best Film.[4] Daniel Day-Lewis and Emmanuelle Riva received the awards for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively, while Anne Hathaway and Christoph Waltz won the Best Supporting awards.[4] Ben Affleck received the Best Director accolade. Skyfall was named Best British Film.[4] Sir Alan Parker received the Academy Fellowship and Tessa Ross gathered the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award.[5][6][7][8][9]
