97.1 FM Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador
CKLN-FM (97.1 KIXX Country) is a new English language radio station which was expected to broadcast a new hot adult contemporary format on the frequency of 97.1 MHz/FM in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The new station, to be owned by Newcap Radio, was approved by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) on May 9, 2013.[1]
On February 18, 2015, the CRTC granted an extension for Newcap's application to have the new station on the air at 97.1 MHz in Clarenville by May 9, 2016.[2]
The station will use the CKLN-FM callsign, which was used at a former radio station in Toronto.
