Acorn House College

Acorn House College is an independent, co-ed Sixth Form and GCSE College located in Southall, West London, with particular focus in the medical sciences.

History

Opened in 1999 by Gladys Watt as the West London Tutorial College, the school was renamed as Acorn Independent College in 2006, and then again as Acorn House College in 2013. The college topped the exam league tables in its first year

In 2013, the college joined the Dukes Education Group and shortly afterwards, Gladys Watt retired. John Wilson, a medical school entry specialist, joined the school as Principal from another high-achieving West London college.

Curriculum

The school offers Years 9 & 10, GCSE and A Level courses in a range of subjects as well as offering retake courses, resits for students from other schools, and specialist Medical and Oxbridge admissions courses.

Academic achievement

In 2014, 67% of students achieved A*-C at A Level. The percentage of students at Acorn House achieving three or more A Levels in 2014 was the highest of all independent colleges in London (95%).[1]
