Adrian Samuel Young (born August 26, 1969) is an American drummer, mostly known as a member of the rock band No Doubt.

Biography

When not performing, in the studio or touring, Young likes to spend his time out on the golf course, as he is an avid golf player.[1] He is a scratch golfer who is a much desired participant in celebrity golf tournaments such as the Michael Jordan Invitational, Alice Cooper Foundation Tournament and others. Young has participated in VH-1's Fairway to Heaven numerous times.

Personal life

On October 9, 1999, on the last night of the California Club Tour at The Fillmore in San Francisco, California, Adrian proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Nina Kent, on stage in front of the thousand-plus fans. On January 16, 2000, they were married. Kent gave birth to a son, Mason James Young, on February 9, 2002. On May 4, 2010, at 8 months pregnant, Nina gave birth to their daughter, Ruby, who was delivered stillborn. Nina gave birth to another baby girl, Magnolia Renée, on June 10, 2011.[2]

Reunion with No Doubt

No Doubt announced on their official website that they would tour in the summer of 2009 with Paramore, The Sounds, Janelle Monáe, Bedouin Soundclash, Katy Perry, and Panic at the Disco. while finishing their upcoming album, which was set for release in 2010.[3][4] Tickets for the tour went on sale March 7, 2009.[5] As a special promotion for the tour, the band was giving away their entire music catalog free as a digital download with purchase of top tier seating.[6]

In 2009, No Doubt made an appearance on the television series Gossip Girl, playing a fictional band called "Snowed Out" in the episode "Valley Girls".[7] They performed their cover version of the Adam and the Ants song "Stand and Deliver".[8]

Adrian Young is a highly sought after studio drummer. He has recorded and/or performed with such acts as Bow Wow Wow, Scott Weiland, Dilana, Kelis, Maroon 5, Unwritten Law, The Vandals, Bing Ji Ling, and countless others.
