Aidingimonas is a genus in the phylum Proteobacteria (Bacteria).[1]

Etymology

The name Aidingimonas derives from:
New Latin noun Aidingum, Aiding (a lake located in Xinjiang province of north-west China); Latin feminine gender noun monas (μονάς / μονάδα), monad a unit, a monad; New Latin feminine gender noun Aidingimonas, a monad from Aiding Lake.[2]

Members of the genus Aidingimonas can be referred to as aidingimonads (viz. Trivialisation of names).

Species

The genus contains a single species,[2] namely A. halophila ( Wang et al. 2009, (Type species of the genus).; Greek noun hals, halos (ἅλς, ἁλός), salt; New Latin feminine gender adjective phila (from Greek feminine gender adjective philē (φίλη)), friend, loving; New Latin feminine gender adjective halophila, salt-loving.)[3]
