Alexander McEachian "Alex" Gallacher (born 1 January 1954) is an Australian politician and member of the Australian Labor Party. He was elected to the Australian Senate representing South Australia at the 2010 federal election.[2]

Gallacher was formerly the state secretary of the SA/NT branch of the Transport Workers Union of Australia,[3][4] which is aligned with the Labor Right faction. In total Gallacher spent fifteen years at the "top of the South Australian union movement".[5] Previously he worked as a truck driver and labourer.[5]
