Alexandria Technical and Community College is a two-year technical college in Alexandria, Minnesota, United States, and part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system. Approximately 4,000 students are enrolled, with about 60% of those students being enrolled full-time.[1]

Academics

Alexandria Technical and Community College offers over 50 degree programs, ranging from certificates to Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees. An Associate of Arts degree is also offered. Most of the programs here involve some form of experiential learning, preparing students for the real world. Class sizes average about 20 students, the labs 18.[2] The campus is one of the few colleges in the state that offers a law enforcement program, which is one of the biggest programs there. Degrees in this field at Alex Tech include a traditional AAS degree, an AS transfer degree, and a career transition degree.

Alexandria Technical and Community College is known for its high placement rate: the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System (|MnSCU) lists a placement rate for the college of over 90% for several decades.[3] The college is known for its transfer education and specialized skills. Alexandria Technical and Community College was Minnesota's first two-year college to be accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.[4] It also has the highest graduation rate for two-year public colleges in the state of Minnesota. It also provides a solid education foundation to transfer for a bachelor's degree.
