Early life

Krauss had been teaching elementary school via Teach for America[1][6] for two years before she met future Sleigh Bells bandmate Derek E. Miller, who was the server at the restaurant she and her mother were dining in. Miller mentioned that he was looking for a vocalist for his music project and Krauss' mother suggested Krauss.[7][8][6]

Other ventures

In February 2014, Krauss and her friend Jessica Assaf founded blog Beauty Lies Truth, which educates consumers on the toxic ingredients in cosmetics and skincare products.[9][10][11][12][13] The blog was officially launched in August 2014.[11][10]
