Amodghata is a census town in Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is under Mogra police station in Chinsurah subdivision.[1]

As of 2001 India census,[3] Amodghata had a population of 6864. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Amodghata has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 54% of the males and 46% of females literate. 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.
