Baidyabati is a city and a municipality in Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is under Serampore Town police station and Srirampore subdivision.[1] Now it is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority.[2]

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[3] Baidyabati had a population of 121,081. Males constitute 51.65% of the population and females 48.35%. Baidyabati has an average literacy rate of 89.08%, higher than the national average of 74.04%. 6.7% of the population is under 6 years of age.
