Kalchini (community development block) is an administrative division in Alipurduar subdivision of Alipurduar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Kalchini and Jaygaon police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is at Hamiltanganj. There are two census towns in this block: Jaygaon and Uttar Latabari.[1][2]

Kalchini is located at 26°41′34″N 89°28′18″E / 26.692778°N 89.471667°E.

Gram panchayats of Kalchini block/ panchayat samiti are: Chuapara, Dalsingpara, Garopara, Jaygaon I, Jaygaon II, Kalchini, Latabari, Malangi, Mendabari, Rajabhatkhawa and Satali.[3]
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Kalchini CD Block had a total population of 298,458 of which 201,808 were rural and 86,650 were urban. There were 154,829 males and 143,629 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 30,157 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 120,282.[4]
Literacy
As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Kalchini CD Block was 181,946, out of which 106,237 were males and 75,709 were females.[4]
Transport
NH 31C passes through the block. Kalchini is on the New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar-Samuktala Road Line.
