Angaar (English: Spark of Fire) is an 2016 Bangladeshi romantic musical film, directed by Wajed Ali and produced by Abdul Aziz under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia. The film features a cast that includes Om and Jolly in lead roles while Ashish Vidyarthi plays the role of main antagonist.[2] The first teaser of the film was released on December 15, 2015 and the film is scheduled to be released on January 15, 2016. It is a Remake of Kannada film Appayya.[3][4]
Synopsis
A Northeastern village in Bangladesh far isolated from the modern society, where love is a crime and punishable by death, two individuals falls in love and embraces it, even after knowing the conclusion of their fate and life.

Production
Development
In May 2015, Production Company Jaaz Multimedia announced a project with newly introduced actress Jolly in lead role.[5] Later in the month, Om was finalised for lead male protagonist while Ashish Vidyarthi, Amit Hasan, and Rajatava Dutta was roped to play the main antagonists in the film.[6]
Filming
The principal photograpgy began during June 2015 with Jolly in Dhaka. Om, Ashish Vidyarthi, Amit Hasan and Rajatava Dutta joined the filming in Bandarban from September 2015. Later that month, the first song from the film was shot in Bandarban.The filming officially came to an end during November 2015.[7][8]
Music
Angaar's film soundtrack album is composed by Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, Akaash and Emon Saha.[9]

Reception
The album gained huge popularity among audiences and critics. The first track of the Kotobar Bojhabo was a huge hit after its release. The track was composed by Akaash and sung by Mohammed Irfan.
Release
Angaar was released in Bangladesh and India on 15 January 2016 in more than 170 screens. The film, made at a budget of 3.5 crores (US$450,000), was distributed by Jaaz Multimedia in Bangladesh while Eskay Movies was given the distribution rights in India.
Reception
Box Office
Angaar made around ৳32.2 lakhs during its first weekend of theatrical release. During first week, the film ran in over 87 screens in Bangladesh and around 85 screens in West Bengal. The film was released in Bangladesh on 15 January 2016. The film collected ₹18.9 lakhs on opening day from Bangladesh. The film saw a sharp drop on second day, earning ₹13.3 lakhs, and ₹12.25 lakhs on third day. The film earned ₹75.95 lakhs by the end of first week in Bangladesh and ₹39.55 lakhs in West Bengal.[10] The film was declared below average by Box Office Bangladesh.
