Antonio Cabral de Caravajal (1646-1700s) was a Spanish military officer.[1]
Biography
Antonio Cabral was born in Buenos Aires, his wife was Leonor Morales, daughter of Pedro Morales y Mercado and Mariana de Manzanarez. He was the maternal grandson of Gonzalo Carabajal, alcalde in Buenos Aires.[2] Cabral dedicated himself to livestock, had his ranch in the center of province of Buenos Aires.[3] Had participated in military expeditions against the Indians, he held the position of Maestre de Campo.[4] Almost all their missions were dedicated to protect livestock and ranchers in the area continuously attacked by wild Indians.[5]
Antonio was the son of Cristóbal Cabral de Melo, (regidor and Captain) and María de Carvajal y Salas.[6]
