The Apostolic Vicariate of Derna (Latin: Vicariatus Apostolicus Dernensis) is a Roman Catholic apostolic Vicariate (missionary pre-diocesan jurisdiction) in Libya, with see in the city of Derna but no cathedral.
It is exempt, i.e. directly dependent on the Holy See (notably the Roman missionary Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples), not part of any ecclesiastical province.
History
- Established on June 22, 1939 as Apostolic Vicariate of Derna, on territory split from the Apostolic Vicariate of Cyrenaica.
