The Army Training Regiment, located at Sir John Moore Barracks near Winchester in Hampshire, provides Phase 1 military training for elements of the British Army.
History
The Army Training Regiment at Winchester provides training for the Royal Armoured Corps, the Army Air Corps, the Royal Artillery, the Royal Engineers, the Royal Corps of Signals, the Royal Logistic Corps, the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, the Adjutant General's Corps, the Royal Army Medical Corps and the Intelligence Corps.[1]
The British Army also used to have Army Training Regiments at Bassingbourn (closed in 2012),[2] Harrogate (renamed the Army Foundation College), Lichfield (closed in 2008) and Pirbright (renamed the Army Training Centre).[3]
