Ashleigh Murray (actor)

Ashleigh Murray (born January 18, 1988) is an American actor and singer.

Career

Ashleigh Murray will be portraying Josie McCoy, “a gorgeous snooty, and ambitious girl who is the lead singer for the popular band Josie and the Pussycats” in the CW's new teen drama Riverdale.[1]

The television pilot Riverdale is based on the characters by Archie Comics. The pilot is under consideration for a series order, and if picked up to series will air in the fall 2016 season, coinciding with the Archie character's 75th anniversary. The pilot is being written by Archie Comics' chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and executive produced by Greg Berlanti.[2]

Previously, Ashleigh worked on the WB's The Following, appeared in a few episodes of TVLand's Younger.

Ashleigh is represented by Jago Ciro Entertainment, and Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency.[3]

Personal life

Ashleigh Murray was born in Kansas City, MO. Early on her family moved to Oakland, California, where Ashleigh enjoyed studying piano, jazz and hip-hop. After graduating high school, Ashleigh moved to New York city where she studied at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, graduating in 2009.
