Ashley Darel Jazz Richards (born 12 April 1991), better known as Jazz Richards, is a Welsh footballer who plays as a right back for Fulham. He is also capable of playing at left back and as a midfielder.

Club career

Swansea City

Richards made his professional debut for Swansea City in a Championship match against Middlesbrough in the 3–0 loss on 15 August 2009, replacing Shaun MacDonald as a substitute in the 63rd minute.[3][4] At the end of the 2009–10 season where Richards made 15 appearances, Richards signed a new two-year deal with Swansea.[5]

On 15 October 2011, Richards made his Premier League debut. Twelve days later, Richards was rewarded with a new 18-month contract.[6]

On 28 March 2013, Richards signed a new contract with Swansea until June 2016.[7]

Crystal Palace (loan)

On 25 January 2013, he joined Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season, and helped them achieve promotion to the Premier League.[8]

Huddersfield Town (loan)

On 10 September 2013, Richards joined Football League Championship side Huddersfield Town on a 93-day emergency loan. After not being able to get international clearance from FIFA in time to play against Doncaster Rovers on 14 September, Richards made his Town début as a substitute in the 2–1 win over Charlton Athletic on 17 September. He then made his full debut in the 0–0 draw against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on 21 September. His loan spell ended on 17 December, after making 9 appearances for the Terriers.

Fulham

On 24 January 2015, Richards joined Football League Championship side Fulham on a one-month loan, which was later extended until the end of the season.[9][10] Richards went on to make 14 appearances for the Cottagers.

He joined Fulham on a permanent basis on 2 July 2015.[11]

International career

Richards has represented Wales under-17 and Wales under-19.[2] He was called up to the under-21 squad, to face Luxembourg under-21 in March 2009.[2] On 27 May 2012, he gained his first full international cap for Wales as a substitute in the 79th minute of the friendly match versus Mexico.
