Associação Desportiva Mogi das Cruzes, also called Mogi das Cruzes Basquete, is a Brazilian basketball team from Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo. It disputes the national basketball league, Novo Basquete Brasil.[1]

History

The team was founded in 1995, but because of a lot of financial problems, ended its activities in 2005, returning with the entire board recast in 2011. In this year, the team was qualified to first division of the state championship of São Paulo. But the tradition of basketball in Mogi das Cruzes started when team disputed the final series of state championship in 2003,against COC/Ribeirão Preto, one of the strongest teams in Brazil at moment, who was led by the coach Lula Ferreira. But this series was won by COC/Ribeirão Preto. After returning its activities in basketball, Mogi das Cruzes/Sanifill finished the Super Copa Sudeste league in third place, obtaining a place in Super Copa Brasil in 2012. The team won the championship and finally returned to the division's elite national basketball, the league of Novo Basquete Brasil.
